Man arrested after he allegedly used fake “For Motion Picture Use Only” $100 bill

The Aberdeen Police Department has announced the arrest of 28-year-old Marcus Melvin Bowser of West End, North Carolina, following an incident involving a counterfeit $100 bill at McDonald’s in Aberdeen.​

The incident occurred on April 21, when officers were called to McDonald’s following a report of a fraudulent $100 bill being used. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, later identified as Bowser by police, in his vehicle parked at a nearby business.​

During the investigation, officers interviewed the on-duty manager and reviewed video surveillance footage. The bill in question was confirmed to be counterfeit, bearing the inscription “For Motion Picture Use Only.” The counterfeit bill was seized as evidence.​

Bowser was arrested and charged with one count of Felony Uttering a Forged Instrument. He was taken before a Moore County Magistrate and released on a written promise to appear in court.​

The Aberdeen Police Department continues to investigate the incident. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the department.​
