Grease fire at Hardee’s causes temporary closure

A fire at Hardee’s along N.C. Highway 5 has caused the restaurant to temporarily close.

Around noon on Monday, firefighters were dispatched to eatery for a reported grease fire in the kitchen. Pinehurst Fire personnel were getting take out from Hardee’s when they smelled an odd odor. They went back into the restaurant and were able to start extinguishing the flames.

A ladder truck was brought in to see if flames spread into the roof. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to just an area of the kitchen.

All patrons and employees were able to evacuate the building safely, and no injuries were reported.
