Flames from fire pit spread to 2 buildings in Cameron

Firefighters are currently on the scene of an outdoor fire that spread to two structures on Thursday afternoon.

The 911 call came in just before 1:15 p.m. sending first responders to 100 block of Gilchrist Road. The caller told dispatchers the flames were around two vehicles and a large propane tank. Moments later, dispatchers upgraded the call to involve two structures.

One of the structures, an old abandoned barn, was completely burned out.

Authorities told Moore County News on scene that the wind helped the flames spread quickly.
