A fire damaged a small chicken coop and scorched surrounding woods Tuesday night off Marks Road near the Lobelia area.
Crews were called to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. and found a small outdoor chicken coop fully engulfed in flames, with fire spreading into the nearby wooded area.

Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, preventing further spread. Officials say the chicken coop was unoccupied at the time.
According to investigators, the homeowner was burning earlier in the day and believed the fire was completely out. However, the flames rekindled and spread to the chicken coop and surrounding brush.
