A West End family is being assisted by the American Red Cross after their home caught fire early Friday morning.
Firefighters responded to the 400 block of Gretchen Road, and arrived to smoke coming from the attic of the two-story home.
According to West End Fire & Rescue Chief Erik Stromberg, the fire started in and was contained to the attic space, however the rest of the house did have water damage. The family of two adults, two children, and two dogs were able to get out of the house.
No one was injured in the incident.
