Early morning fire destroys Pinehurst home

Published on

A devastating house fire tore through a Pinehurst residence early Saturday morning, leaving behind a heavily damaged structure.

The blaze broke out shortly before 5 a.m. at 10 Catalpa Lane North. When fire crews arrived on scene, they found the one-story home fully engulfed in flames.

A neighbor who spoke with Moore County News said he could see flames shooting from the structure when he called 911. He also noted that the residents were not home at the time the fire started.

During the response, much of the roof collapsed, and drone footage taken by Moore County News shows only a small portion of the structure was spared from the worst of the damage. The majority of the home was gutted by the fire.

Fire officials have not yet released details about what may have started the blaze, citing an ongoing investigation.
