Driver transported to hospital after striking car in yard

A driver was transported to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a crash at a residence along Plank Road near Robbins.

According to authorities, the driver of a Toyota Tacoma accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake while in the home’s carport. The vehicle jumped a small brick wall and struck a nearby tree.

The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. Emergency responders arrived quickly, and the driver was taken to the hospital. Injuries are believed to be minor.

No one else was injured.
