A man was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after crashing his car along Bass Road near Page Store Road.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. and involved a Ford Crown Victoria.

According to troopers, the driver had been swerving along the road, running off each side multiple times before overcorrecting and spinning out into several trees.

The male driver sustained a cut to his head and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Troopers say speed was a contributing factor in the crash.

Bass Road was temporarily closed while the wreck was investigated.
