Traffic was tied up for hours along the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 at Addor Road after a crash that involved a semi-truck and an SUV.
Officials at the scene told Moore County News that an SUV with several occupants entered the intersection as a semi-truck was still passing through. The back wheels of the semi’s trailer collided into the front end of the SUV.
At least on person in the SUV had serious injuries, and all the SUV’s occupants were transported to the hospital, including two children.
U.S. 1 south was closed until emergency crews were able to open one lane to allow traffic flow. Due to another crash on the north end of the county, Troopers were not able to arrive to the scene for more than two hours after it was called in.
