Man dies after reportedly drowning in Pinehurst residence pool

A 36-year-old man has died following a reported drowning Thursday afternoon at a private residence pool on Nashua Court in Pinehurst.

Emergency crews were called to the home around 2:30 p.m. and found the man unresponsive in the pool. First responders pulled him from the water and immediately began CPR at the scene.

Life-saving efforts continued for approximately 30 minutes before the man was transported to Moore Regional Hospital. CPR was ongoing as he was being loaded into the ambulance.

Despite efforts by first responders and hospital staff, the man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Pinehurst detectives arrived shortly after the incident and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the drowning.

Next of kin has been notified, but the man’s identity has not yet been released.
