Deputies were called to 1930 Mercantile Drive around 5 a.m. Tuesday, the post said. During the encounter, one deputy was struck by gunfire and hit twice. The deputy was taken for medical treatment and is currently receiving care.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect involved in the incident is deceased.
