The driver of a BMW was arrested after he hit a tree along Beulah Hill Church Road on Thursday just after 11 p.m.

According to investigating troopers, the man was heading north on Beulah Hill Church Road when he veered off the right side near Oak Ridge Loop Road. As he attempted to steer back onto the road, his BMW struck a tree on the passenger side. The impact caused the vehicle to spin out, eventually coming to a stop off the right side of the road.

Authorities suspected the driver was impaired and administered a field sobriety test. Troopers at the scene told Moore County News that the driver also took a breathalyzer test that registered over the legal limit.
