Black’s Tire & Auto in Southern Pines closed for a day after a fire in the bathroom of the business.

First responders were called to the shop on Pinehurst Avenue around 9:30 on Monday morning. The first unit on scene reported smoke coming from the roof of the building.

Southern Pines Fire Chief Mike Cameron said a fire was found in the bathroom that had spread into the attic. Fire fighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames.

An employee at Black’s Tire & Auto told Moore County News that the shop would reopen on Tuesday, November 5.
