One person was taken to the hospital Monday morning after a vehicle veered off N.C. 24/27 outside Carthage, traveled through a yard and crashed into a house.
The single-vehicle crash happened just before 10:15 a.m. near Promise Lane and involved a Honda CR-V carrying three people.
According to troopers, the three occupants were traveling from Charlotte to Fayetteville when the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The CR-V was traveling through a curve when it veered off the right side of the highway.
The vehicle traveled more than 300 feet through a yard before striking the house, according to officials.
One of the three occupants was transported to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. The other two occupants were not transported.
No one was inside the house when the crash happened, although a dog was inside at the time. The dog was not injured.
