A suspicious vehicle fire that broke out early Monday morning outside of Carthage is under investigation by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and the Moore County Fire Marshal’s Office.

The blaze was reported just before 6 a.m. on Dogwood Trail, where first responders arrived to find a Toyota sedan fully engulfed in flames.

According to the authorities, the vehicle’s owner said the car had not been driven since around 7 p.m. the night before, raising questions about what caused the fire to ignite hours later.

Investigators from both the sheriff’s office and fire marshal’s office are working to determine the origin and cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
