Two people face a long list of drug and child abuse charges following a search warrant executed Friday in the Carthage area, according to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.
On May 30, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office searched a residence in the 100 block of Barbers Park Drive, where they seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, THC oil, Suboxone, drug paraphernalia, four firearms and more than $1,000 in cash.
Authorities say 28-year-old Christopher Kant Verbal of Carthage was arrested on more than a dozen felony and misdemeanor charges, including trafficking in opium or heroin, multiple counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver controlled substances, and felony possession of marijuana. He is also charged with maintaining a dwelling for drug activity, misdemeanor child abuse, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Verbal was placed under a 48-hour hold at the Moore County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court on June 12.
Also arrested was 22-year-old Dasani Avione Collins, also of Carthage. Collins faces similar drug-related charges, including felony possession and possession with intent to sell and deliver multiple controlled substances. She is also charged with child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Collins was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under a $125,000 secured bond. Her court appearance is also set for June 12.
