A large outdoor fire near Foxfire engulfed multiple vehicles, a building, and a camper off Foxfire Road on Sunday afternoon, leaving them completely destroyed.
The two-alarm fire broke out shortly before 1:15 p.m. and was soon upgraded to a structure fire. Fire crews from across Moore County responded to the scene in the 1100 block of Foxfire Road, near Pinecrest Court Road.

Thick black smoke was visible for miles as firefighters worked for about an hour to contain the blaze. A plow was brought in to help prevent the flames from spreading.
Fire crews remained on scene for hours, dousing hot spots with a foam mixture. Foxfire Road was closed in both directions near the fire scene.

With Moore County under a red flag warning, firefighters are urging residents to avoid burning due to North Carolina’s dry conditions.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
