Car overturns in Lobelia Road crash

A woman escaped serious injury after the vehicle she was driving hit multiple trees and overturned on Friday.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. along Lobelia Road near Morrison Bridge Road.

Authorities say the woman lost control of the vehicle, crossing the center line. She then over corrected, went off the right side of the road and hit a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to flip onto its driver’s side, before hitting another tree.

Despite the heavy damage to the car, the driver only has a few bruises and refused treatment at the scene.

Lobelia Road was reduced to one lane as the crash was investigated and cleared.
