Overturn crash caused traffic delays, one person injured

Published on

One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Lobelia Road at McLauchlin Road outside of Vass. The collision happened around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Investigators says the driver of a Ford Escape was traveling east on Lobelia Road, attempting to turn left onto McLauchlin Road. The driver pulled in front of an oncoming Honda CRV. The impact caused the CRV to overturn onto its side. The Escape was heavily damaged in the front, unable to move out of the intersection. Firefighters directed traffic around the incident, closing the westbound lane of Lobelia road, causing traffic delays for around an hour.

The driver of the CRV was transported to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Escape was not injured, and was charged with failure to yield.
